Day Trips
If it snows in our backyard, club members ski at Bethpage State Park or Muttontown Preserve. We meet in the clubhouse at Bethpage Park or the building at the entrance to MP at 10:00 a.m. Look for people wearing Long Island Cross Country Ski Club buttons or pins.
If nearby areas receive adequate snow, the club schedules one-day outings to such off-Long-Island destinations as Fahnstock State Park, Pocantico Hills, Mohonk Mountain House, Minnewaska State Park and Ward Pound Reservation. We also schedule weekend trips, as snow allows, to cross country centers like Prospect Mountain in Woodford, VT (www.prospectmountain.com) and Lapland Lake in Northville, NY (www.laplandlake.com).
All unscheduled skiing is coordinated thru the club's Yahoo group: LIXCSkiClubForum@Yahoogroups.com - available to LI Cross Country Ski Club members only.
Our club is always looking for new places to try. As always, we need you to come to club meetings, suggest new places for us to try and be part of the discussions. Bring along information or brochures you may have about places where you would like to ski.
